The assignment was to choose a song and make three slides that represent the lyrics. First we had to choose a song that we like. Then we were told to look up the lyrics and choose a small portion of the song that we wanted to put in our slides. Then we had to make three 5 by 7 slides with 300 resolution. After we put split the lyrics up into our three slides and began work. We were told to choose images to represent what the song was saying and what the song meant. The slides are supposed to flow and capture the person looking eye.
The song I choose is “My President is black” by Jay Z. I choose this song because it spoke to me the most and I knew I could make good slide off of it. For my project I used image adjustments a lot to make all my pictures black and white. I thought it would look funny if I put some of my pictures in color and some of them in black and white. I also used the image size and paint bucket.
The song I chose talks a lot about how we’ve come a long way from the civil rights times. My slides basically have images of the civil rights period and images of present time; like when Barack Obama got inaugurated. My slide show basically shows images about how far we’ve come like Jay z talks about in the song. I tried to create a type of reflective mood so I kept the pictures in black and white, but to make it pop out I used bright colors.
I like working with the adobe Photo shop. I learned a lot of things I didn’t know before. I know that in future projects I can make them more creative because I know what I’m doing. I think I did an OK job at the lyrical. I don’t like it that much. If I could do it differently I don’t know exactly what I would change but I would want to change it.
